*Must be in the New Presentation style to use 360°
What is a 360° video?
With a 360° video, you’re given the opportunity to watch a video from all angles of recording.
Differences between 360° and VR?
VR is essentially a way to allow the user to explore a virtual environment in real-time. In comparison to a 360° video which is a video recording that allows a user to see a full 360 degrees of the active shot, virtual reality is like its name suggests, a reality that has been virtually created for your exploration. VR is not supported in Wiredrive at this time.
Below are the required specs to upload a 360° video to Wiredrive. Wiredrive uses a 16:9 aspect ratio players. If you're uploading anon-16:9 file, it will be processed and displayed correctly as well, with pillar boxes (black bars on the left and right) or letter boxes (black bars at the top and bottom) provided by the player.
- No Edit Lists (or the video might not get processed correctly)
- moov atom at the front of the file (Fast Start)
- Channels: Stereo
- Sample rate 96khz or 48khz
- Progressive scan (no interlacing)
- High Profile
- 2 consecutive B frames
- Closed GOP. GOP of half the frame rate.
- CABAC
- Variable bitrate. No bitrate limit required, though recommended bit rates below for reference
- Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0
Content should be encoded and uploaded in the same frame rate it was recorded.
Common frame rates include: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, 60 frames per second. Interlaced content should be deinterlaced before uploading. For example, 1080i60 content should be deinterlaced to 1080p30, going from 60 interlaced fields per second to 30 progressive frames per second.
The bitrates below are recommendations for uploads. Audio playback bitrate is not related to video resolution.

360 Media Metadata Injector tool:
If you have 360 content and you are not sure if it is injected with the proper metadata to playback in our player you can download spatial Media Metadata Injector attached to this article. Additional information.
Playback:
*Please note: 360° video supported is at the Presentation level for New Presentations only. Videos in the admin portal will not display in 360° formats unless viewed in an active Presentation, in the new Presentation layout.
NOT SUPPORTED YET:
We are working on many of these limitations currently and will update this article once these features become available.
- Full screen on iOS devices
- 360 Support: IE11, Safari on Mobile
- 360 support in Admin Panel
- Spatial Audio is not supported at this time.
