Wiredrive selects thumbnails automatically so you don't have to. Thumbnails get selected is based on a predetermined setting that looks for a frame around 10% into the file, then runs an algorithm to ensure that the standard deviation of colors is high enough, at which point it selects the image as a thumbnail. We try our best to pick something pretty, but you may find that you want to add your custom thumbnails, which is very easy to do.
If you want to replace these system generated thumbnails with your custom thumbnails, you can do so by:
Library:
- Either take a screen grab of or export an image of the thumbnail image you wish to use.
- For Library, go to Library> Administration and find the file you wish to change.
- In Library, click edit, then under Replace Thumbnail, select the custom file and click save.
- You may need to refresh the page to see the new thumbnail.
Projects:
Click on the image of the file you want to edit.
In the file detail view, click on Manage in the top left-hand corner.
Click Thumbnail under Replace.
Choose your file, then click the Replace button.
You may need to refresh the page to see your new custom thumbnail.
You can also add custom thumbnails for files that do not, by default have images, such as audio files and documents.
