Wiredrive selects thumbnails automatically, so you don't have to. Thumbnails are selected based on a predetermined setting that looks for a frame around 10% into the file and then runs an algorithm to ensure the standard deviation of colors is high enough. We try our best to pick something visually appealing, but you may find that you want to add your own custom thumbnails, which is easy to do.
In Presentations, thumbnails are displayed in the thumbnail gallery where you can select what to play next. Note that the video player itself displays the first frame in the video, not the video's thumbnail image.
If you want to replace a system-generated thumbnail with your custom thumbnail, please follow the steps below for Library or Projects.
Library
First, take a screenshot or export an image of the thumbnail image you wish to use. Then, go to Library> Administration.
Next, click on the file you wish to update. On the right side of the page, click Edit.
Next to Replace Thumbnail, click Choose File to select your custom thumbnail file.
Finally, click Save.
Note that you may need to refresh the page to see the new thumbnail.
Projects
Click on the thumbnail image of the file you want to update.
In the file-detail view, click Manage in the top left-hand corner.
Next to Replace, click Thumbnail.
Now choose your file.
When you're done, click the Replace button.
You may need to refresh the page to see your new custom thumbnail.
Note that you can also add custom thumbnails for files that do not have thumbnail images by default, such as audio files and documents.
