There are a few reasons why our clients add watermarks to files.
- To protect intellectual property.
- To identify the video owner and creator.
- To brand a video with a company’s name or logo.
As Wiredrive is still working on bringing features like this to you, we want to make sure you have the resources you need to continue your uploads to Wiredrive.
To get started, we found a free tool (*Mac Only) that will allow watermarks in any location of your video file. You’ll need to download a free 3rd party program called Video Blend, which you can download from here.
Once you have the program downloaded:
- Open it up and click the Watermark option in the top menu.
- Right below the menu in the left corner, you should see an "Open" option.
- Drag or select the video file you would like to add a watermark.
- Click on the icon for an image watermark or text:
- Then enter the text or image for the watermark you want.
For Logos:
- Resize the image as needed and drag to the spot you would like.
- Choose the opacity and scale.
- Once you’re done click "Save."
- Then you may keep the default presents or change any of the allowed settings.
- You may preview the file to see what it looks like or check the file to see how long it will take to save and the new file size.
- Once you are happy with the video, click OK.
For Text:
- Resize the text as needed and drag to the spot you would like.
- Choose the opacity and scale.
- Enter the text you would like or just the company name.
- Choose your desired font formats
- Once you’re done click "Save."
- Then you may keep the default presents or change any of the allowed settings.
- You may preview the file to see what it looks like or check the file to see how long it will take to save and the new file size.
